Luna Park Buenos Aires is ook bekend als Stadion Luna Park<\/em>, Stadion Luna Park<\/em> of gewoon Park van Luna<\/em> onder de plaatselijke bevolking.<\/p>\n

Luna Park Buenos Aires is geen kermis en dus ook geen Luna Park in de traditionele zin; het is eerder een enorme arena die meerdere doelen dient.<\/p>\n

Het werd in 1910 gebouwd door de Italiaanse koopman Domingo Pace, waar het diende als een open straatkermis. In de jaren 1920 werd het erg populair onder de hogere klasse. Tegen het einde van hetzelfde decennium nam het aantal bezoekers drastisch af, waardoor veel van de attracties verlaten bleven.<\/p>\n

Het verval duurde echter niet lang; in 1931 werd het park gekocht door de zoon van de oprichters, Ismael Pace, en Jose Pepe Lectoure, die een bokslegende was. Zij hernoemden het park Estadium Luna Park<\/em> ter herinnering aan het recente verleden van het park als kermis. De twee nieuwe eigenaren wilden een sportarena cre\u00ebren, die in 1932 werd geopend.<\/p>\n

In de daaropvolgende jaren deed de arena zijn dienst en werd hij erg populair onder zowel de plaatselijke bevolking als buitenlanders. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd het ook gebruikt om nazistische en facistische bondgenoten te vermaken.<\/p>\n

Tegen de jaren 1950 begon het aantal bezoekers weer af te nemen. Onder druk van de stad werden de twee eigenaren gedwongen om nieuwe bronnen van inkomsten te vinden. Ze begonnen met renovaties, maar ze stierven allebei voordat ze klaar waren. De arena werd ge\u00ebrfd door de zoon van Lectoure, Juan Carlos Lectoure.<\/p>\n

Juan Carlos Lectoure - ook wel Tito genoemd - maakte van Luna Park Buenos Aires een epicentrum voor muziek en concerten, vooral voor de Argentijnse rockscene.<\/p>\n

In 2007 werd de arena uitgeroepen tot nationaal historisch monument. In 2013 veranderde Luna Park Buenos Aires van eigenaar na de dood van Tito's vrouw, Ernestina Devecchi de Lectoure. De nieuwe eigenaren waren Sociedad Salesiana de San Juan Bosco<\/a> en Argentini\u00eb<\/a>Dit is respectievelijk een rooms-katholieke orde en een liefdadigheidsorganisatie.<\/p>\n

Tegenwoordig doet Luna Park Buenos Aires nog steeds dienst als cultureel centrum met de nadruk op concerten, spektakels, evenementen enz.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
